Canada’s Boreal Forest is one of the world’s largest intact ecosystems and is a vital part of Canada’s environment, culture, and economy. It is also home to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and many oil and gas project sites. These sites, and the people who work on them, are surrounded by the natural breeding and denning area for numerous mammals and over 150 types of birds. This course covers preventing hazardous situations that may lead to human-wild interactions, the purpose and requirements for line-of sight buffers, and how and when to report wildlife sightings.
